Three people were injured Friday afternoon after a vehicle slammed into a house in the community of Dunleith near New Castle.

New Castle County police officers arrived after 3 p.m. to the scene on Bunche Boulevard, where an SUV had crashed into a residence and trapped a 61-year-old man. Another man, 64, was also injured in the home. Police said the driver, a 67-year-old man, remained on the scene and was injured.

All three were transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. New Castle County Paramedics and Minquadale Fire Company were also on the scene.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, but drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the incident.

They are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information to contact Detective Brandon Harris at Brandon.Harris@newcastlede.gov or by calling (302) 573-2800.
