A three-alarm fire Monday evening in Bear sent three firefighters to the hospital and displaced dozens of residents, an official said.
The blaze was reported at about 7 p.m. in the 1200 block of Barrett Lane in the Village of Barrett Run Apartments, said Chief Deputy Robert Fox, a spokesman with the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office.
Three firefighters were rushed to Christiana Hospital with minor injuries, Fox said.
Two dozen apartment units were damaged in the blaze, causing 52 residents to be displaced, Fox said.
Those residents have been relocated to area hotels, Fox said.
The complex sustained about $1 million in damages from the fire. The cause and origin of the blaze are under investigation, Fox said.
