Frank Gerace Via Wdel

A 14-year-old boy is back in the care of his mother after being rescued from a quagmire Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters from Odessa and Townsend fire companies, along with New Castle County paramedics, found the boy stuck in mud in the 200 block of Abbigail Crossing in Goldsborough Farms shortly before 4 p.m.

It took rescuers 20 minutes to extricate the teen from the glop. Paramedics found he wasn't hurt and released him to his mom.
