Fire damages Middletown home, displaces three adults, one child

Firefighters arrived on East Creek Lane in Middletown Saturday morning to find flames shooting out of a two-story home.

The heavy fire caused damage estimated at $50,000 and displaced three adults and one child, the State Fire Marshal's Office said.

Firefighters from the Volunteer Hose Company responded to the 500 block of East Creek Lane shortly before 6 a.m. There they found flames shooting out of the second story of the home.

The State Fire Marshal's Office said no smoke alarms in the house were working.

State fire investigators are currently on the scene investigating the fire's origin, the State Fire Marshal's Office said.
