Heroin, crack cocaine found in Bridgeville arrest: police

An investigation in Bridgeville led to an arrest after police said they discovered heroin and crack cocaine.


Delaware State Police went to a residence in the 11000 block of Evans drive "for a criminal investigation" around 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, according to a police press release. They found 6.279 grams of heroin, 7.5 grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and $3,941 in suspected drug proceeds, police said.


The sole resident, 42-year-old Jerome W. Charleston, was taken into custody and charged with three possession of a controlled substance felonies. He was also charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.


Charleston was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $32,000 secured bond.
