HomeGoods is opening a store in Middletown adjoining the new Ashley HomeStore on Bunker Hill Road.

A HomeGoods spokesperson said the company anticipates opening the store "sometime in the spring." She did not comment further.

An online job posting is advertising full- and part-time positions at the new store, including sales associate and customer service coordinator roles. According to the posting, there will be hiring events at the Hampton Inn on Sandhill Drive in Middletown throughout February.

Ashley HomeStore opened in August, taking about half of a new building — roughly 30,000 square feet — behind the Aldi at Middletown Warwick and Bunker Hill roads. The HomeGoods website lists the address of their new store as 1006 Bunker Hill Road, which would put it in at least part of the remaining section of the structure.

HomeGoods is a discount home furniture store. It is owned by TJX Companies, which also owns Marshalls, T.J. Maxx and HomeSense.

There are four HomeGoods stores in Delaware, including two that are combined Marshalls/HomeGoods stores. The HomeGoods-only stores are on Route 13 in Dover and off Coastal Highway in Lewes, and the combination stores are in the Christiana Fashion Center and in the Midway Plaza on Kirkwood Highway.
