A 39-year-old man was seriously injured Thursday evening after being hit by a car near Claymont, which then fled, New Castle County police said.

Police were called to the intersection of Glenrock Drive and Miles Road at about 6 p.m. after receiving reports of the hit-and-run. On scene, they found the man with bad injuries to his upper body.

Police said the man was jogging when a car hit him and drove away. Paramedics took the man to a local hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

It's not clear whether police have any information about the car.
