After the shooting of a 33-year-old man Monday night in Wilmington's West Center City neighborhood, the city's police department has left some questions unanswered.
Wilmington Police said the man was shot just before 10:15 p.m. at Seventh and Washington streets.
"Police located a 33-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition," Wilmington Police said in a statement issued Tuesday morning.
The department, however, has not explained why its officers were concentrating their investigation on a car stopped in the area of Fifth and Washington streets, across the street from Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist church.
The car, about two blocks from where police said the shooting occurred, appeared to have bullet holes along the driver's side door. Wilmington Police have not responded to questions about this.
