Man dies after being shot on Wilmington's Market Street

A 40-year-old man died at a hospital after being shot on the 2200 block of N. Market St. in Wilmington on Wednesday morning.

Wilmington police responded to the scene near the Lucky Stop Mini Market at 11:40 a.m. The victim, Randolph White of Wilmington, was taken to the hospital, where he died, police said.

Clerks at Milton Liquors, two blocks away, said they heard seven shots during the shooting.

White was with his daughter, they said.

This is Wilmington's 11th shooting and second fatal shooting so far this year, according to a Delaware Online/News Journal database.

This incident remains under investigation,
