A man who posed as a home contractor to get into a woman's West Grove, Pennsylvania, home sexually and physically assaulted her as she was on the phone with a family member, police said.
Southern Chester County Regional Police Department officers are searching for the suspect, who the victim said was an overweight, white bald man, likely in his 50s. He was wearing khaki pants, a light blue "contractor-style" shirt and a dark blue name tag with the name "Jeff" on it.
The victim told police that she was alone in her home at about 4:45 p.m. when the man knocked on her door and claimed to be there to finish home repairs. She let him in under that guise, police said.
As the victim spoke on the phone with a family member, the man attacked her, physically and sexually assaulting her, police said. She told police she blacked out during the assault, and was later taken to Chester County Hospital.
Police are currently searching for the man with help from other Chester County law enforcement and the district attorney's office.
They are asking the public and residents of West Meadows subdivision to report any suspicious activity, and ask any residents of the subdivision with video surveillance cameras to contact police.
