A 23-year-old Newark man died Thursday afternoon after a crash in Bear.

The man was on a 2018 Yamaha motorcycle going east on Pulaski Highway (U.S. 40), approaching a green light at the Buckley Blvd. intersection around 2:15 p.m., Delaware State Police said.

Police said that's when a 2004 Jeep Cherokee, driven by a 49-year-old Bear man, was going west on U.S. 40 when he entered the left turn lane for Buckley Blvd. on a red light. The Jeep then proceeded into the intersection, directly into the path of the motorcycle.
