Police have identified New Castle resident Tatiyana Clark as the 21-year-old woman who was killed after being hit by two cars while trying to cross Route 40 in Glasgow Wednesday night.

A 2006 Chrysler Sebring and a 2012 Kia Sportage were heading west on Route 40 in the right and left lanes, respectively, police said. Clark was trying to cross the roadway at the intersection with Perch Creek Drive around 8 p.m.

She was hit first by the Chrysler, police said, and was thrown in front of the Kia and hit again.

According to police, the cars had a green light and the woman crossed against pedestrian signals. Police said she was wearing all dark, non-reflective clothing and was not carrying a light. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene.

The west lanes of Route 40 were closed for about two and a half hours while the crash was investigated.
