Police have identified the pedestrian killed on Concord Pike as 64-year-old Deborah Pence.
Pence, from New Castle, was killed Friday night when she was hit by a car while trying to cross Concord Pike around Rocky Run Parkway in Brandywine Hundred.
Delaware Police responded to the scene at around 6:24 p.m. that evening. Pence had crossed directly into the path of a car that was going southbound on Concord Pike. She was struck and thrown into the southbound right lane.
Pence was then transported to Christiana Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police said the New Castle woman was wearing all dark, non-reflective clothing and was not carrying a light. The driver was not injured and remained on the scene.
