Delaware's bloody holiday weekend continued late into Tuesday with a shooting by an apartment complex near New Castle, fire company call logs show.

New Castle County and city of New Castle police were called to the 600 block of Moores Lane, near Colonial Village Apartments, just after 10:15 p.m., according to Wilmington Manor Fire Company call logs.

Police said Wednesday the victim suffered a graze wound in the incident. Numerous patrol cars swarmed the area. Crime scene tape could be seen blocking off the front yard of a home, and police shut down Moores Lane for at least an hour.

The shooting continued a violent July Fourth weekend in Delaware, which recorded six people shot, two fatally, between Friday and Monday.

The men killed — 19-year-old Matima Miller and 22-year-old Quinton Dorsey — were both well-known in the community. Miller, a TikTok star, had more than 2.6 million followers.

Dorsey started the popular clothing label Bag Season several years ago.

The shooting near New Castle was the second of the day Tuesday.

Earlier that night, Wilmington police responded to a local hospital after a 19-year-old man showed up to the emergency room with a gunshot wound.

Police said he was stable but provided few other details, only saying the shooting occurred around 8 p.m. in the 1300 block of Read St. near the city's Hedgeville community.

So far this month, there have been nine people shot across Delaware.
