Two men arrested in connection with Wilmington's first shooting of 2020

Two people were arrested on Sunday in connection to a Saturday night shooting in Wilmington's East Side neighborhood. 

Wilmington police arrested Kyndale Perkins and Jayden Deputy, both 18. Both are being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on cash-only bail. 

The shooting — Wilmington's first of 2020 — left an 18-year-old man injured. He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. 

Wilmington police found the man at about 8:10 p.m. Saturday night in the 700 block of N. Spruce St. 

Both men have been charged with attempted murder in the first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and conspiracy in the first degree. Perkins has also been charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
