Wilmington police arrested two 15-year-old boys in connection to Thursday afternoon shooting near New Castle Avenue.
Police responded to the 400 block of Queen Street around 1 p.m. and found a 15-year-boy who was shot. He was listed as being in stable condition.
Through the course of the evening, investigators determined that the victim was shot accidentally, and detectives identified two 15-year-old boys as suspects. They were taken into custody without incident, police said.
One boy was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and tampering with evidence.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 on $111,500 cash-only bail.
The second was charged with tampering with evidence and providing false statements to law enforcement with intent to hinder an investigation.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 on $3,000 cash-only bail.
Both boys are currently in custody at New Castle County Detention Center in Greenville.
