A Waffle House is coming to Bear on U.S. 40.
It will be the chain's fourth restaurant in Delaware and their second in New Castle County. The nearest locations are on Middletown Warwick Road in Middletown, and less than two miles from the state line off I-95 in Elkton, Maryland.
The new Waffle House will take the space of a former medical office at 1450 Pulaski Highway. The company will construct a new building in the space. It expects to open by the end of the year.
The Waffle House will be in the same shopping center as the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology and Game Changers Sports Bar & Grille, and next to the Doroshow, Pasquale, Krawitz and Bhaya law office.
Patterson-Woods Commercial Properties announced the move in a press release Wednesday night. The firm said an Italian restaurant is in line to join the shopping center on the opposite side of the law office. Two spaces in the strip behind where the restaurants will be located are still open.
There are more than 2,000 Waffle Homes across 25 states. The other locations in Delaware are in Smyrna and Dover.
