A Wilmington man was sent to the hospital Saturday morning after being struck in the head by an airplane propeller at New Castle Airport.
At around 9:20 a.m., the man was trying to start his single-engine airplane. He was unsuccessful, so he got out of the plane to start it manually. That's when the propeller hit him in the head, Delaware Bay Port Authority officials said.
The man was unresponsive when he was taken to the hospital. It is unknown what his condition is at this time, authorities said.
