Wilmington shooting: 3 young men injured, blocks shut down

A shooting in Wilmington Wednesday night left three men injured and shut down five blocks for hours.

The gunfire broke out at 5:50 p.m. at Seventh and Pine streets in the city's Eastside.

Shortly before 9 p.m. police announced that they found three shooting victims, ages 16, 19 and 23. The 16-year-old victim was in critical condition. The other two were stable, police said

Police were focusing their investigation over several blocks.

Bloodstains could be seen on the pavement in the 500 block of East Eighth Street and used medical gloves laid nearby. Police focused their attention on a car with shattered windows that was later towed away.

In the 600 block of East Seventh Street, six evidence markers were placed on the sidewalk and the window of corner barber shop had bullet holes.

And 11 evidence markers were spread along on the sidewalk in the 800 block of North Spruce Street.

Police asked anyone with information to contact Detective Joseph Wicks at (302) 576-3654.

This is the third shooting in two days for Wilmington, where

five people were injured.
