A pair of twin sisters from Wilmington allegedly assaulted a hotel manager, fled to another nearby hotel and were later arrested by state police and charged with felonies.
State police say Dasani Pigford-White and Damani Pigford-White, both 19 years old, assaulted a 55-year-old manager at a Hampton Inn on Old Churchmans Road near Christiana Sunday evening.
Police were called and arrived after 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Officers were told four individuals were using the pool and were not guests of the hotel. The manager of the hotel "confronted the subjects and escorted them off the property," police said.
It was during that encounter that the sisters "became disorderly and began assaulting" the manager, according to police.
One of the sisters "struck the victim with a rock in the back of the head causing a laceration," police said, before all four subjects fled the area. The manager was treated and released from a local hospital, according to police.
The investigation led police to the Days Inn located on the same block. Police made contact with all four subjects from the pool incident. While speaking with the subjects, the twins began assaulting two males in the room "for allowing the police inside," police said.
When state police officers intervened, both suspects "began threatening and fighting" the officers, police said.
After resisting arrest and damaging contents inside the hotel room, the sisters were arrested, according to police.
They were transported to Troop 6 and each were charged with second-degree felony assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, underage drinking and other charges.
Damani and Dasani Pigford-White were arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and each released on $8,152.00 unsecured bond, police said.
