Woman badly injured after being trapped in her car following crash in Prices Corner

An elderly woman was badly hurt Tuesday morning after being trapped in her car following a wreck in Prices Corner, New Castle County Paramedics said.

First responders were called to the intersection of Centerville Road and Old Capitol Trail around 9 a.m. for reports of the three-car crash. On scene, paramedics found a 76-year-old woman trapped in her sedan.

Firefighters were able to get the woman out of the car after about 20 minutes. She was flown to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.

A 54-year-old man who was driving another car was treated on scene by first responders before being taken to Christiana Hospital in serious condition. He was stable when he was transported, paramedics said.

It's not clear whether there were any other injuries.

Delaware State Police is investigating the crash. Centerville Road is intermittently closed due to the wreck, according to the Delaware Department of Transportation.
